Students graduating from a designated MissouriA+ School may qualify to receive financial assistance to cover

tuition, and general fees to attend a Missouricommunity college or vocational/technical school provided that the MissouriState Legislature appropriates the necessary funding yearly.

 

Student eligibility requirements:

•         Sign a letter of agreement/intent with the school prior to high school graduation

•         Attend a designated A+ School for three consecutive years prior to high school graduation

•         Graduate from high school with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale

•         Maintain at least a cumulative attendance of 95% or better for grades 9 through 12

•         Perform 50 hours of unpaid school-based tutoring/mentoring

•         Maintain a record of “good citizenship” and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and alcohol

•         Make a documented good faith effort to secure all available federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds that do not require repayment (FAFSA)

•         Register for selective service if applicable (age 18 before graduation)

 

Student postgraduate responsibilities:

•         Attend on a full-time basis a Missouri public community college or vocational/technical school

•         Maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale

•         Apply for federal post-secondary student financial assistance during subsequent semesters

 

This agreement signifies that it is my intent to meet or exceed the above noted eligibility criteria that will allow me to participate in the A+ Schools student financial assistance program.  I further understand that if I qualify and provided funding is available, the State of Missouri will pay the cost of tuition and general fees for me to attend any Missouri public community college, vocational or technical school.  I understand that I must make a good faith effort to secure federal assistance that does not require repayment.  The A+ Program may provide these educational incentives provided state funds are appropriated by the state legislature and is subject to state funding approval.

 

Signing this agreement in no way obligates the student to participate in the A+ Schools Program.  It shows that the student is aware of the opportunity afforded by this program and will satisfy the letter of intent requirement for those who choose to participate.

I grant permission for pictures, quotes and achievements of my son/daughter to be used by area newspapers, Miller newsletters, web-site information, brochures and other forms of publication for the promotion of the A+ Program.
