Miller R-II School District Earns First AdvancED Accreditation

Miller R-II School District was recently informed the district earned accreditation as a Quality School System by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission.
The district completed an on-site review October 18-21, 2009. During the visit, members of the Quality Assurance Review Team interviewed 3 administrators, 50 teachers, 21 support staff, 18 parents, 50 students and 6 Board of Education members for a total of 148 stakeholders. In addition to meeting with district personnel and stakeholders, the team visited the 2 schools within the school district. During the school visits, team members interviewed community members, observed classrooms, and reviewed relevant school artifacts. The team also reviewed documents, student performance data, and other artifacts provided by the district. The AdvancED standards focus on systems within a school district and systematic methods of attaining high student performance and organizational effectiveness.
The AdvancED Quality Assurance Review Team certified in a report released to Superintendent, Dr. Anthony Rossetti that the district satisfactorily met the expectations and responsibilities of AdvancED District Accreditation protocol.
A team of five AdvancED administrators (Quality Assurance Review Team) conducted a three-day review of the district and established our district successfully met all of the seven standards reviewed. The Quality Assurance Review Team commended and congratulated the Miller administrative team, the professional faculty and staff, the Board of Education and all stakeholders throughout the community on this outstanding achievement. As a result of this achievement the district will continue to monitor and strive for continuous improvement in all areas regarding student learning and achievement. The Miller R-II School District vision, “Working together for the success of all children,” is the foundation for further accomplishments that will allow our district to continue to strive for excellence in education.
