Miller FFA Officers Attend Area Leadership Training

Recently the Miller FFA Officers participated in a chapter officer leadership training held at Carl Junction.  Chapter Officers attending were Miller Chapter President and Area IX Vice President Chad Laxton, Vice President Darren Mitchell, Miller Chapter 2nd Vice President and Area IX Secretary Jessica Nield, Secretary Abby Gann, Treasurer Olivia Cook, Sentinel Marina Garringer, Historian Lucy Colley, Chaplain Mikayla East, Parliamentarian Ariah Blevins, Co-Secretary Sydney Gold, Co-Reporter Bethany Gulick, and Co-Historian Sophia Garner.  The officers travelled to Carl Junction Elementary to learn how to work as a team, how to be effective leaders, and to also plan activities and events for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year

Area IX Officers guided the Miller officer team as they worked on how to plan an efficient officer meeting, learned how to use social media as a good and positive thing for our FFA chapter, and talked about what qualities a good leader should have.  The officers also enjoyed a contest between 5 teams over the FFA Opening Ceremonies and some quality team bonding at Steak’n Shake and the mall.

The Miller Officers are now ready for the great upcoming year of 2016-2017.

“To practice brotherhood, honor agriculture opportunities and responsibilities, and develop those qualities of leadership which an FFA member should possess.
